Still to Come This Summer...
The Dunk is undoubtedly one of the most iconic sneakers in Nike’s illustrious history. Originally introduced back in 1985, this legendary silhouette has enjoyed a rejuvenation recently and it has been a very busy year for Dunk releases, all of which have sold out instantly. New drops are continuing to come thick and fast throughout the summer, and we’ve chosen our top 3 summer releases that are due out in the coming weeks and are sure to be huge hits amongst Dunk lovers.
Nike Dunk High “University Blue”
The “University Blue” colourway has already proven to be a massive hit thanks to the release of the University Blue Jordan 1s and the Jordan 4s earlier this year. The popularity of this colour scheme has caused a lot of anticipation prior to late-June’s release of the Dunk High University Blue.
Following the release of the Nike Dunk Low University Blue earlier this month, the high version is expected to be similarly sought after and will undoubtedly be in huge demand due to the sheer popularity of the college-grade shade of blue. It’s not entirely clear if this particular Dunk is a men’s, women’s, or a unisex release but sneaker fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating this highly coveted early summer release.
Undefeated x Nike Dunk Low “Blue/Purple”
Another sneaker to be released later this month is the Undefeated x Nike Dunk Low “Blue/Purple” and whilst a release date hasn’t yet been confirmed, we’re sure they will be in huge demand as soon as they become available. The colourway and materials are what sets these sneakers apart, featuring deep purple across the mid-panel and tread, along with bright blue overlays. The materials consist of premium leather, suede and luxe snakeskin and the design features include the world-famous Nike Swoosh, Nike text, and the Undefeated strike logo. It is clear why so many Dunk fans are already eyeing up a pair of these Low’s.
Nike Dunk Low WMNS “Better” Pack
To be released in two colourways; White/Sail and White/Pale Coral, the Nike Dunk Low WMNS “Better” is set for a summer 2021 release and has gained enormous hype. These vegan-friendly sneakers will have many of the classic design features, along with the possible addition of some vegan branding. Targeted at women, these sneakers will be available in UK size 3-9 so we’re sure some men will also try to cop a pair, and we may even see a few stylish kids rocking a pair!
Dubbed ‘the sneaker of the summer’, we expect both colourways to be in huge demand the moment they are released. The White and Sail Dunk features creamy coloured overlays, while the white and Pale Coral version features a fresh white upper along with colourful pink overlays for a clean and bright look, and both colourways are completed with coloured laces to match the leather overlays. Nike’s famous swoosh sits across the later sidewalls on each version, along with signature branding details on the tongue and heel.
